What if I don’t know which type of editing I need?
Let’s chat then! This is a common challenge, as there are differences in terminology used by editors, authors, and publishing houses. Please visit my Pricing page for a summary of the types of editing services I offer. Using those guidelines, we can create a bespoke package that will best meet your needs.
What if I have grammar or punctuation preferences that are not considered correct?
If you understand the reasons for a specific grammar or punctuation rule, but have a different personal preference, I will respect that. This most often comes up in fictional dialogue, and can actually add character to your work!
In what format should I send you my manuscript?
I work with various digital formats. We can discuss what works best for you: MS Word, Adobe PDF, or Google Docs. All three have features that allow me to clearly communicate suggested edits or track changes.
How long does editing take?
This depends on the level of editing you are looking for, but generally, I do not promise more than 30,000 words per week.
How many rounds of editing will there be?
My rates include up to three rounds of editing. It is important that you are happy with the finished product, so if more editing is required, I am always willing to discuss other options.
Will there be a contract?
Yes, I have a standard template contract based off Editors Canada guidelines. We can adjust it to fit your specific project.
What types of payment do you accept?
I accept Interac e-transfer, PayPal, and credit card through PayPal.
